Can Black Mold Kill You?

Black mold is a very serious issue. Even though black mold cannot actually kill you, the actual spores in the black mold are very toxic and have been linked to death in children from respiratory failure.  In many serious documented cases, having inhaled the toxins from black mold can create bleeding in the lungs.  The spores can attach themselves to the lungs and continue multiplying.  There is a lot of fluids running and this is the only component mold needs to feed on.  Even if the mold is dead, the toxicity level is very high, making it as dangerous.

Babies and small children are the ones that are more susceptible to mold.  Also, mold can affect older people or people that have very weak immune systems.  Their body and systems are not strong enough to battle off the toxins or other infections present.

Black mold is more commonly linked to problems like: lung problems, bronchitis, asthma, and other issues related with the lungs.  Some of the main symptoms are: headaches, excessive coughing, loss of hair, memory loss, strokes, and many other.  The more the individual inhales these spores (toxic), the more long term effects it will cause the person inhaling it.  Getting rid of the black mold as soon as it is spotted, is essential for good health.

DO NOT try to fix the issue yourself.  There is a series of steps necessary to do the job correctly. If done wrong, the consequences could be even worse. Hire a mold expert that knows what they are doing.  You can go to moldexpert.com and you’ll be able to find a few local mold experts.

Family sues landlord for neglect. Should they sue?

Weston, Florida

Weston family sues landlord for neglect.  This family has been living in a very nice house in a prestigious neighborhood in Weston, Florida for over 9 months.  The smallest child, 4 years old, started getting sick, coughing a lot and when the clild was taken to the hospital, they found out the kid has been slowly intoxicating with mold. His bedroom's closed had a broken pipe and the parents didn't find early enough.

A worried parent asked the landlord to take care of the issue.  The landlord sent a handyman to take care of the issue, but the handyman only cleaned the walls with a bleach product.  The child never got better and when the parents inspected the closet, found out the mold grew back.

Amazingly, the landlord refuses to fix the issue and the tenants decided to move out of the property, breaking the lease. Before they moved out, they hired a local company, Blue Star, to do an inspection and the findings were really bad.  The landlord refused to return the escrow deposit and enough was enough with this people.

Three days later a lawsuit was filed against the landlord for neglect.  The landlord and the Florida family settled outside of court.
